Wayne Anderson

Wayne played football and baseball for the Vandals. He was the head coach in baseball and basketball, and an assistant in football, and was an assistant athletic director.

He was chosen the Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year for baseball in 1965-66.

Wayne was involved in UI athletics in one way or another for 32 years. His first job at Idaho in 1957 was that of Director of Intramurals, and that served as a stepping stone to serving as an assistant football coach for the next nine years. He was named the head football coach in 1966. He stepped down in 1974 to enter private business. That's when he became involved in the Vandal Boosters and in 1982 he was back as UI's assistant athletic director.
