Ted Diehl

Ted is a Jerome native who combined his boxing excellence and degree in Agricultural Engineering along with education at the FBI Academy, to a highly successful career in farming and with his great knowledge of water resources was manager of the North Side Canal Co. in Jerome.

A foot­ball and boxing athlete at Jerome, he moved on to Idaho State, and then with the U.S. Navy V-5 program. He served as a Navy Aviator 1944-46 and then returned to the University where he had an outstanding record as a boxer for four years. During his boxing career he was a Golden Glove Champion and was an outstanding champion in his class while at Idaho. Ted has been active in the Presbyterian Church and served as chairman of the Idaho Water Users Legislative Committee.

He also served as president of the Northwest Irrigation Operators Inc., a member of the Idaho Water Quality Programs Committee, and is a member of the Jerome Chamber of Commerce and chaired the Farmer Night Committee. He is a member of the Jerome Tiger Booster Club, Jerome Toast­masters, and the Idaho Water Users Association. He served as president of all three of these asso­ciations. He raises Quarterhorses and hunts and fishes along with sports watching as hobbies. Ted married his college sweetheart, Beverly, in 1951 and they had four children, Jennifer, Marilee, Wade, and Jerry. All children are college graduates.
