Steve played football in Lewiston under fellow North Idaho hall of fame coach Dwight Church.
He also played tennis and basketball before graduating from Lewiston high school in 1966. After high school he attended the University of Idaho on a football scholarship. He set many passing records during his three years as the Vandals starting QB from 1968-1970. Former inductee Jerry Hendren was his favorite receiver. After College, Steve spent his life coaching and teaching in Alaska. He lives there now in retirement with his wife Roxanne.
