Richard spent 30 years in education in Idaho before resigning his position as Executive Director of the IHSAA. Stickle worked as a teacher, coach, and administrator in schools early in his career.
During his tenure as executive director, great strides were taken in the development of activities, especially for girls. His leadership implemented many traditions and programs that are an important aspect of the IHSAA organization.
