Richard Fox

Inducted
1971

Richard “Bullet” Fox was a three-time letterwinner in men’s basketball for the Vandals (1919-22) and went on to coach the team. During Fox’ senior year in 1922, Idaho made its debut in the Pacific Coast Conference and won the league championship.

He also spent time with the baseball and football teams at Idaho. His contributions to Vandal Athletics, however, have had a far-reaching impact on the program. Every year, the senior student-athlete with the highest grade-point average is honored with the Rich and Mary Fox Award.  The award is a cash stipend that can be used any way the student-athlete chooses.
