The saga of John Ikeda lends great credence to the saying, "Great things come in small packages." A graduate of Bonners Ferry high school in 1939, John served in the U.S. Army from 1941 through 1944.
He entered the University of Idaho in 1944 and graduated with a Degree in Business Administration in 1948. He joined the Controllers Office at the University of Idaho and served there until 1973. In 1974 he was named Assistant Athletic Director for Services and Business Manager during this time, John worked under Athletic director Leon Green, and is credited with bringing the department from financial despair to a high level of credibility before his retirement.
This 5'5" package of talent has left his mark on the State of Idaho with his community involvement and talent for his job. With a great feeling for his fellow man, combined with his service to the state and community, combined with his many talents, we welcome this fine gentleman in the Hall of Fame.
