From Spokane, Guy graduated in 1925 from the University of Idaho. He lettered nine times while competing in track, cross country and basketball.
He captained the track team in 1923 and was a star basketball player in 1925.
He then coached football at Seattle University, then moved to the University of Minnesota and finally the University of Wisconsin before retiring in 1952.
