Bill was born in Payette, Idaho. At an early age, his family moved t0 Bonners Ferry, Idaho. He was an outstanding high school athlete in baseball, football and basketball, while accomplishing the academic standing of graduating 3rd in his class.

He entered the University of Idaho in the fall of 1950. Bill played freshman football, but due to a physical problem, he could not continue his athletic career. He did compete in intramural sports, but concentrated on his academic and student leadership positions. Bill was on the Associated Student Executive Board for two years; Silver Lance, Vandaleers and Blue Key for three years. He lived at the Sigma Chi Fraternity and managed to get a Juris Doctorate while doing all of his extra curricular activities.

While practicing Law in Bonners Ferry, he helped set up Sports Future, Inc. which was a 7th and 8th grade football program. He was President of the Kiwannis Club in Bonners Ferry in 1972.

He moved to Coeur d'Alene in late 1972 and as been very active in community affairs. Among those is a leadership role in Rotary Club. He has been on search committees to acquire various leadership positions at North Idaho College. He has been on several Boards of Directors, such as; Bank of-Idaho, University of Idaho Alumni Assn., North Idaho College, Sweitzer, Inc., The Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame, and Pack River Lumber Co., to name only a few.

Bill is a member of several of the profession associations in his legal field. He has demonstrated his commitment to excellence and public service typifying the members of the ldah0 Athletic Hall of Fame. Bill and his wife, Judy, have two sons and a daughter.
